Siren Mating

ANOTHER 101 GUYS. on mating and what sirens can even mate with.
and I HAD to do this one, this one gets asked a LOT and I think I should put this thing to bed, to here we go >: B
Also the pink siren is Leti, the blue siren is Gilli, and the merman and human were just made up for the purpose of example.  

So sirens can really only mate with 3 things:
Other Sirens. Mermaids/Mermen. Humans/Hylians.
that's it.


They cannot really breed with anything else because...anatomy and/or size issues x'D
need I say more on that one? :'D
There are humanoid or similar-anatomied species they cannot breed with though for reasons.
Witches: conflicting energies. (same goes for other creatures with dark energies, like demons/monsters/etc)
Gorons: because weight differences (let me explain plz) so gorons are rock-like beings, it has nothing to do with like "fatness" it's all about the weight just being what they are. I hope that makes sense >A<;; (Plus I don't think many Gorons are even around much in WW.)
Zoras: Sirens were meant to be a WW race. Therefore, Zoras are either super rare, or extinct and have all become ritos.
Ritos: they are a race of the sky, they would next to never even see each other (unless they're land-dwellers), let alone mate. Plus even if they did, most sirens inherently find ritos unattractive because of their opposite features, and likewise ritos with sirens.

And hypothetically even IF a siren and rito/zora/goron/etc were both frikkin' crazy enough to get it on, there still would be no half-breeds of those sorts because the mother (no matter what species she is) is unable to conceive because the differences would be rejected by her body (due to the demon blood cell a siren carries) and nothing will form from it. ANYWAY. Only Hylians/Humans and mermaids can withstand mating with a siren. It's got a lot to do with how sirens were forced into human forms, making compatibility. And Mermaids too because both share aquatic traits along with their humanoid nature.

What happens if a siren mates with a human or a mermaid?
Bad things. Sirens are pretty proud race, and believe in being pure-bred.
If you dare deviate from that, you best not show your half-child and spouse of the other race to any other siren.
Hybrids are extremely frowned upon, and if someone has one, they'd better just leave the clan, they will find them and their hybrid child disgusting. :'D especially if the hybrid is part human, they will try to kill it. if it's part mermaid or something, they won't try to kill it as much as think it's gross and treat it bad.

When there's a hybrid human, it's a gamble, because some can have a siren form, some cannot, and will just drown at birth if the siren has it underwater. It really is up to genetic strength on if the half-human gets it or not, that's why it's a gamble. If they DO get a siren form, they will not evolve. 

If the hybrid is part mermaid, it's also depending upon chance. they will be born able to breathe underwater no matter what, but some females may not get scales up to their chests, and right away the hybrid-ness is obvious. Some WILL get scales up to the chest, making it easier to hide the fact they're a half (or with males they can just try to hide it since they look the same anyway). some can evolve too, and if that happens, no one will ever know they're half mermaid! If they don't evolve and they tried to hide it before, they're gonna figure it out and shun the family and child.

Actually mating:

The scales "there" retract during mating. (and seriously, let's not be immature about this, you guys. UnU; )

Compatibility wise, if a siren mates with something other than another siren, the siren must change to its human form, they can't go at it while one's human and the other's in siren form. with a mermaid though, they have to be in siren form to do it.
